Bondi & Bourke: Dinner From Down Under

I have been eyeing this restaurant for months now ever since it has opened in BGC. Apparently, they also have one in Makati but never really thought about dropping by.

One day, I was able to find friends willing to try out the restaurant with me. (Thank you Tippy and Cristina!) Unfortunately, they didn’t have much of an appetite that night but it’s okay because at least they were open to order one of the mains.

But anyway, upon entering, I felt cozy with how the interiors have been set-up. It looked nothing Aussie to me but it had that welcoming vibe which just made you feel relaxed to dine with them.

As I said, Tippy and Cristina only wanted to order appetizers but thankfully, I was able to convince them to try out more than just an appetizer. Yes, they gave in to their forever starving friend, me.

The menu was filled with familiar delights and we decided to start with their Spinach Dip and fresh Oysters which, we all agreed to be shucked.

So how was I able to convince my friends to order one of the mains? I simply said, “We don’t have to order carbs…” Hehe and there you go, we ordered their US Prime Rib Eye steak which was one of the best tasting steaks I have ever had! No kidding. I am a die hard carnivore. It was cooked just the way we wanted it, medium rare. I also liked the way they served it, no fuss —- just seasoned with salt and pepper, and potato puree with pepper mustard sauce on the side.

I know, I know…Dessert is supposed to be the best part but convincing them to get one of the mains was hard enough so I didn’t even bother. Although, I think this can still be counted as dessert since it is sweet tasting — I was able to try their Amaretto Sour. I must say, it was one of those Amaretto Sours that I have tried that was mixed well…really well.

I definitely recommend this place for friends, lovers, and families as it is very casual and welcoming. If only…if only I could try more of their dishes. I will definitely be back soon. I heard their Meat Pies are a must-try. So, who wants to go with me next time? Preferably, those willing to have dessert too haha!
